HARNESSING THE TECHNOLOGY

Development of digital technologies accelerated to rates unheard of ever before. Innovations such as tools based on artificial intelligence and advanced cloud solutions show great promise for economic and societal growth. However, their adoption and rapid development is bound to come at a cost and put novel problems in front of us. The challenges at hand regard ensuring relevant and sound policymaking aligned with technological progress, preparing the general population to use the new technologies in a responsible, efficient and safe way, as well as issues of insufficient ICT specialist’s workforce and relatively low level of adoption of digital technology amongst SMEs. How do we make sure regulators, educators and the entire population keep up with fast technological progress?

MOVING FORWARD WITH CONFIDENCE. OVERCOMING CYBERTHREATS

With the alarming, ever-higher number of digital security incidents and coordinated cyberattacks coming over Central Eastern Europe, particularly ever since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, cybersecurity became one of the top priorities both on national, regional and European level. Efforts to improve cybersecurity across Central Eastern Europe include regulatory initiatives as well as deeper private-public cooperation. Assuring cybersecurity and resilience, however, proves to be a difficult task, not just due to the sheer number of attacks but also due to the need to develop the sound regulatory landscape at a fast pace, shortage of experts in the field, and difficulties with striking the balance between international cooperation and sovereignty. Let’s take a deep dive into the CEE’s strategy for cybersecurity.
