Mark Boris Andrijanič became the laureate of the CEE Digital Trident Award
CEE Digital Coalition awarded Mark Boris Andrijanič, former Minister of Digital Transformation of the Republic of Slovenia with the CEE Digital Trident Award. It was announced during CEE Digital Summit in Warsaw.
Mark Boris Andrijanič is, among other positions and titles, a Member of the Governing Board at EIT - European Institute of Innovation and Technology. Previously, he was a Minister of Digitalization for Slovenia.
– Mark Boris Andrijanič is recognized not only in our region but also around the world. He is a true digital ambassador of the CEE with an impeccable track record of hard work for digital transformation of our region in the private sector as well as academia. To list just a few of his many accomplishments: He’s received Ukraine’s peace prize for his efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s digital resilience, he’s a tech executive and policy maker passionate about human-centered digital transformation, co-founder of number NGOs and initiatives. He is a vocal advocate and true ambassador for sound, forward looking digital policies and regulation as well as transatlantic cooperation, looking for boosting the region’s competitiveness and potential – Michał Kanownik, President of Digital Poland Association said, while awarding Andrijanič with the CEE Digital Trident.
–The economic growth of CEE over the past decades is without a doubt one of the greatest success stories in European history. In 1990, Estonia had a GDP per capita similar to Papua New Guinea. Today it is home to more unicorns per capita than any other country in the world. Poland hosts some of the largest R&D centers of the world’s leading tech companies. Ukraine is the global leader in gov tech and defense technologies. The digital revolution has been one of the key drivers of this economic miracle – Andrijanič said while accepting the prize.
CEE Digital Trident Award aims to recognize contributions to development and support for the digital economy and transformation in Central Eastern Europe in the past twelve months. The award is granted by CEE Digital Coalition. The first laurate of the award was Mykhailo Fedorov, Deputy Prime Minister for Innovation, Education, Science and Technology – Minister for Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
